BBQ Lamb Moussaka Burgers recipe
Enjoy the rich, savory flavors of Moussaka in a summer-seasonal burger. This burger recipe is full of bite, spice, and spunk—perfect for picnicking year round.
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
¼ cup minced onion
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon allspice
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium eggplant, cut lengthwise into ½-inch slices
4 to 6 hamburger buns
1 cup prepared barbeque sauce
½ cup crumbled feta cheese
Directions:
1) Preheat grill.
2) Combine beef, onion, cinnamon, salt, allspice, and pepper in a large bowl. Form into beef patties; grill until cooked, about 8 minutes. Set aside.
3) Brush eggplant on both sides with oil. Cook until lightly browned on both sides, about 3 minutes total. Set aside.
4) To assemble the burgers, place one beef patty on a bun. Top with a slice of eggplant, barbeque sauce, and cheese. Top with remaining bun and serve.
